Republic of Moldova

 The activity of centre is based on the implementation of new methods of information technologies into different subdivisions of the Service, software maintenance and development, data base maintenance, on the collection of meteorological information from the posts and stations, the control, the creation of archives, the processing of year-book tables, the safe keeping of all kinds of hydrometeorological information on the pollution of the environment, as well as the maintaining of National Fund of Data.

The Centre Structure includes:

1. The group for technical and software maintaining. The specialists elaborate software for the automatization of working places for the SHS experts – hydrologists, sinopticians, agrometeorologists, etc. For to process the agrometeorological, actinometrical, hydrological and meteorological information, as well as the information concerning the water, soil and air pollution, complex programmes are developed. The Specialists of Centre participated at the creation of the design, the software and the web page of the Service.

2. The group for the elaboration and the maintaining of Database.

Monthly, from all the stations and posts of the republic coded information in written form related to meteorological analysis is received by the service. The introduction of data in computer, their processing, the obtaining of results in a table form are the functions of the Centre using DAVL, ACTIN, MIP, MISS PERSONA software.

The Centre is responsible for the introduction of data concerning the actinometrical analysis at two stations, the data related to the hourly investigations on the pressure in Chişinău, the information for the development of agrometeorological year-book.

3. The Centre includes and the National Fund of Hydrometeorological Data.

The data from the Fund are used for to satisfy the population needs, for economy and civil protection as well as in scientific purposes.

One of the main task of Centre is to expand and maintain of local network, to repair and maintenance the computers, to support and update SHS web page.

Besides its own investigations, the Centre implements and operates the software received or acquired with the assistance of World Meteorological Organization such as:

- CLICOM- the system for processing the climatic information;

- The Complex of GISMETEO software for the adoption and the visualization of real and prognostic maps, received through the joint channel with the Centre of Data from the Moscow;

- PERSONA MIS MIP – the process of meteorological information at the posts and stations;

- METEOIACEICA, software complex for receipt and visualization of information from the meteorological radar MPL-5;

- Briefing Terminals with WIND programmes for visualization of real and prognostic maps, of the information from satellite, received from Romania;

- The software for the automatic stations “Ïîãîäà”;

- The complex of programmes for up-to-date analytic equipment which is used within the State Hydrometeorological Service.

All the information that is introduced in the computer is imprinted on different data media, doubled and recorded in the Centre. The Fund of Hydrometeorological Data keeps the multiannual data on paper.

The main tasks of National Fund of Hydrometeorological Data are:

- collection, storage, systematization and record of investigation and examination materials related to hydrometeorological regime on the territory of the republic; recording of the departmental hydrological stations and posts; elaboration of catalogues in accordance with the hydrometeorological data of the Republic of Moldova.

“The list of documents of the National Fund of Data on the environment state” was developed and approved in 1987, RD52, 19-143-87( republished in 1998). It represents the main guide for the archive workers for establishment of terms to keep the information, as well as for the expert’s commissions.
