Meteorological and agrometeorological monitoring in the republic is performed at 18 meteorological stations, 1 aerological station, 15 meteorological and 19 agrometeorological posts.

The parameters continuously observed are as follows:

air and soil temperature, air humidity, atmosphere pressure, velocity and direction of wind, precipitation, snow cover, sunshine duration and solar radiation intensity, water debit level and state of crops.

At a number of stations the recorders register air temperature and air moisture (3 stations), precipitation intensity (15 stations), sunshine duration (8 stations).

The observation of the extreme values of air temperature, precipitation, snow cover and atmosphere phenomena are carried out at 18.00 and 20.00 (winter period). Actinometric observations (dispersed, total, radiation balance and surface albedo) are carried out at the stations in Chisinau and Codrii.
